Highland Park Presbyterian Church | Highland Park Country Club wedding reception | Brittnee & John
This wedding was full of fun and surprises! One of them was Jim Cornelison singing the national anthem, and the other involved a bag piper…never a dull moment in this career 😉 I absolutely LOVED the Bride’s hair and dress, her look was just so beautiful and romantic! Thanks so much Brittnee and John for having such a fun and well organized wedding, the photos at the Lakefront will be some of my forever favorites. Enjoy!!

From the couple….
‘Ceremony: Highland Park Presbyterian Church– Beautiful church and wonderful community that helped prepare us for the big day!
Reception: Highland Park Country Club– AMAZING service and group of people who went above and beyond in making the venue set up and incredible food services possible. The set-up coordinator, Izzy Rosas, even did our floral arrangements and bridal party flowers. Izzy is extremely hard working and helped in so many ways to make everything run smoothly.
Cake: Oak Mill Bakery– Many wedding cake options with various designs to select from. The bakery works closely with HPCC, so it was easy on our part for coordinating between the two venues. Our cake was a lemon custard flavor with simple frosting texture and a floral topper. We loved the fresh and simple look that flowed with the rest of our wedding decor and overall feel.
Dress: Glamour Closet (Chicago)– My wedding dress was from the Glamour Closet, which is a designer wedding gown resale shop. Most dresses there are very couture and runway looking so I only went originally for fun since I wanted a simple dress. The first dress I tried on was the most simple dress (designer Jenny Yoo) in the store and I fell in love with it. Material is chiffon with silk layers underneath on the skirt. The belt/shoes (Benjamin Adams designer) were purchased at a bridal accessory shop in Lincoln Park called The Left Bank. The bridesmaid dresses (Wtoo designer) were from a boutique in Glenview called GiGi’s Closette. Bridal jewelry were antiques from my grandmother.
Suit: Men’s Wearhouse- The groom’s and groomsmen/ushers’ suits were purchased at Men’s Wearhouse. The shop provides great service and it was easy for the wedding party, who was scattered across the map, to go to their local store and try on the designated suit. Groom’s shoes were purchased at Macy’s.
Rings: Engagement and wedding bands are from Kay. Love their policies and service.
Favorite wedding related purchase: The photography and party bus (Signature Transportation)
Favorite wedding memory: For both of us, it is when the bride walked down the aisle. The second favorite memory would be Papa Fitz’s surprises inclusive of the drivers brigade and Jim Cornelison singing the national anthem.
Something we wish we would have done differently: Not get stressed over logistics
Any advice for couples: Do not get too stressed over the logistics…it will all work out if you just simply keep working at it and your timing is right. Also, you cannot please everyone, just do what is right for you and everything will come together for your special day.’
