Chevy Chase Country Club wedding | Red wedding dress | Denise & Rick

As if the Bride wearing a Red wedding dress  didn’t make me delirious with joy,  photographing Denise and Rick was like a shot of adrenaline! They are both happy people, but together as a couple they’re practically glowing!! It was such a pleasure photographing them and their families at Chevy Chase Country Club.

Bandolino from Macy’s for the ceremony…Red Converse sneakers for the reception.

Fist look!

They are just the happiest couple ever!!

Venue – Chevy Chase Country Club

No extra charge for the sometimes funny, occasionally bad jokes 😉

The signing of the Ketubah.

Beautiful ceremony by Rabbi Ari Margolis.

Flowers – Joseph’s Florist in Libertyville

Cake – Sweet Ali’s Gluten-Free Bakery

Music – Michael Walters Orchestra

From the Bride…

‘Venue – Chevy Chase Country Club – Truly a hidden gem. The Devonshire room is classy and beautiful – more of a city feel in the suburbs, and they indulged us in doing food stations, which was more work for them, but our guests loved it! They couldn’t have been better about handling our and our guests’ dietary requirements, and carefully marked the gluten-free and vegan items.

Dress – Maggie Yan from Deemi Fashion. She was simply amazing. She took my vision of a red dress and made it a reality. It was the biggest dress she’d ever made, and of course, the first red wedding dress!

Music – Michael Walters Orchestra.  One word – AMAZING.  EVERYONE raved about them.  They kept us dancing all night, learned a new song for us, and couldn’t have been easier to work with!  They did every single thing we asked, exactly as requested.

Flowers – Joseph’s Florist in Libertyville.  We worked with Jill.  She helped us create an elegant look without breaking the bank.

Cake – Sweet Ali’s Gluten-Free Bakery.  The cake was beautiful, but best of all, all of our guests ate it and liked it!  Ali is the nicest woman ever, and we’re grateful that even with gluten allergies, we got a traditional-looking wedding cake!

Tux – Men’s Wearhouse.   Rick looks handsome wearing anything, if you ask me.

Shoes – my heels were Bandolino from Macy’s – they cost $34.  The more fun detail is that I ditched the heels for the red Converse sneakers after the ceremony!

Your favorite wedding related purchase? THE DRESS. Your favorite wedding memory? Standing with Rick under our chuppah – just soaking in the moment and marveling at how much we’d been through. Funny moments? When Rick and I totally fumbled through the Jewish tradition of circling 7 times (it wasn’t easy in the big dress, and we almost forgot to do it altogether!), and the Rabbi noted that we circled “Seven-ish” times! Also when I said in my vows that I know I’m not the easiest person, and everyone laughed. A lot. Something you wish you would have done differently? Totally regret not videoing it. Should have done it, 100%. Any additional thoughts you’d like to share? We’d like to add a thank you to our amazing photographer, who was so much more than photographer that day! You became a memorable part of our day and night and were a huge help!

We feel so lucky to have this second chance at marriage! Our best advice is to keep the focus on the marriage, not the wedding. And to have a good rain plan if you choose an outdoor venue for your ceremony or celebration – it rained for ours, and it was so nice having an equally lovely Plan B! ‘
