Mission Hills Country Club | Northbrook IL wedding | Amanda and Nick-
Amanda and Nick are the perfect example on what it is like to have grace under pressure! With 24 hours notice (due to circumstances out of their control) they had to change venues. One day! Let me repeat that…they only had *one day* to move everything and everyone to a brand new venue. They didn’t actually see the new venue till they got there the day of their wedding.
Despite the stress and the chaos everything went off without a hitch. They were happy and in the moment the entire day. I always tell my couples something will go wrong, it’s all in how you deal with it. Thank you Nick and Amanda for being such a great couple.
Hair by Maggie Bujak from Pilorum Salon and Spa
Amanda is a teacher so she had that theme going in her decorations.
First dance.
From the Bride…’Venue: Mission Hills Country Club (Northbrook), it was however supposed to be at Independence Grove in Libertyville.
Jewelry: Necklace and bracelet from Ann Taylor and earnings were my something old (from my aunt)
Dress: Bought it from the website “Recycled Bride” (now Tradesy). It was made by David Tutera (well, not personally 🙂 ) and the style is called “Molly.” I saw it on his show years ago and knew I had to have it. Unfortunately, the dress makers were no longer cutting the cloth for it so I happened to find it in my size on the website with the tags still on (originally from Nordstroms). I bought the dress for around $400 which was such a steal because it really is two dresses in one!
DJ: Spinnin Discs was the FABULOUS company we used. Our DJ was Keith, but due to the last minute venue change, the owner of Spinnin Discs, Ron, gave us two DJs. We so appreciated their kindness and the care they took to ensure their customers would be happy. They are also really reasonably priced!
Cake: From Oak Mill Bakery in Niles. The design was based on the style of my dress. The cake was delicious, it was filled with passion fruit mousse
Tux: Made by Kenneth Cole and bought at Suits 20/20 (Unfortunately, they were slim fit pants and at least three of the men’s suit pants split!)
Shoes: Nina blue Forbes pumps. Hair: Done by Maggie Bujak from Lamaris Salon in Niles.
Favorite wedding related purchase…Finding the dress I had wanted for so long for such a great price!!!
Favorite wedding memory…Besides seeing everything come together, sharing the vows that Nick and I wrote for each other.
Advice for Brides-to-be…Go with the flow…some things are out of your control and you just have to remember the big picture (it’s about getting married not all the other details-aka-venue shutting down at the last minute)
