Lincolnshire Marriott Resort Wedding reception | Katie and Bryan [2]
The reception was held at the Lincolnshire Marriott in Lincolnshire, Illinois. It’s such a cool place for photos.
Red and reflection? Yes, please!!!
The attention to detail was incredible. Katie is a teacher so the small chalkboards were the prefect touch.

Even the flip-flops were color coordinated. Isn’t this a cute idea? Most ladies start resenting their high heels by the time the dancing starts, so they are happy to see a basket of relief by the dance floor.
Waiting for the intros.
Bryan’s Dad is a Pastor, he gave such a beautiful blessing.
I was desperately trying to get a photo of the full cupcake towers, but obviously that effort was completely futile…they were snatched up the minute they were put out.
Lovin’ Oven Cakery in Round Lake Beach, IL.
Katie & Bryan’s favorite lyrics about love were on the napkins.
Oh, the dancing!!! Where do I even begin? The floor was packed the entire night, it felt like an awesome night club. The DJ (Max, from Style Matters) was incredible, he was mixing the music on the spot, he was so talented I don’t think I’ve ever been more impressed.
Bryan and his college buddies surprised Katie with a serenade of “You’ve Lost That Lovin’ Feeling”
I love this shot!
Carol got this shot and this pretty much sums up the day for me. The best part it’s can completely unprompted. They were just dancing Carol was dutifully doing her job sticking with the B&G (the rule is one of us is always with the B&G, no matter what) After she took this photo, she ran over to find me, she was so excited to show me the shot. Seriously we both got teary eyed. Bryan we *heart* you.
From Katie & Bryan…
*Our DJ was Max from Style Matters. Max was awesome! We had always envisioned having a big dance party at our wedding reception, but he went above and beyond with keeping the dance floor packed all night long with music that was really reflective of our tastes. http://www.stylemattersdjs.com
*Our florist and decor was from Meetinghouse Companies in Elmhurst, IL.
*Our cake and cupcakes were from Lovin’ Oven Cakery in Round Lake Beach, IL. http://www.lovinovencakery.com/
*The candy buffet was all done by us (shout out to my mom and dad for housing 100 pounds of candy in their basement for months!) but the labels were done by greenapplepaperie on Etsy.
My favorite wedding related purchase, aside from material things like the late night snacks, is definitely a close tie between you and Max, our DJ. Without both of you, our wedding would not have been as us as it was. It was always important to both of us throughout the wedding planning process that our wedding above all reflected us as a couple, and Max helped us create that atmosphere starting from the music at the cocktail hour all the way through the last string of pop/techno songs and the final dance to “Son of a Preacher Man” (too perfect!). And you, like I said above, were fun to hang out with, made me relax and made me laugh, and captured all those little moments that were so important to us, all the moments that make up the day. I will never be able to adequately express how grateful we are to both you and Max!
Honestly, one of my favorite memories is when our first bridesmaid and groomsmen walked down the aisle too early. I was getting so anxious waiting to walk down the aisle, and our friends headed down the aisle too early, and hearing everybody laugh and applaud made me relax at just the right moment. And from then on, the rest of the day was easy! I also really enjoyed saying our vows. Bryan and I wrote our own vows, and getting to actually say those words in front of all of our favorite people was more meaningful than I had realized while in the midst of all the logistical planning details. The other part that I truly loved was eating our dinner, looking around, and seeing almost every important person from our lives in one room, all talking to each other and laughing together. I don’t think I’ll ever get over seeing people from throughout our whole lives all mixing together!
Bryan’s favorite moment, aside from me walking down the aisle, is the surprise serenade of “You’ve Lost That Lovin’ Feeling” that he and his college Ultimate Frisbee team did for me in the middle of the reception.
Advice for brides: Don’t go overboard, but definitely be organized. It will take a lot of effort, but it will pay off in the end. Also, relax! In the few days leading up to the wedding, I realized that it didn’t matter what color ribbon was tied around the napkins, and it finally hit me that nobody else would care except for me. (Not even Bryan!) Finally, hire Hilda and Max for your photographer and DJ! They will help make your wedding stunningly perfect and an incredible party!
