From the Bride…
“Ceremony: Holy Name Cathedral—Monsignor Mayall had all the right words and the Cathedral Music Department hit every note perfectly, they were absolutely phenomenal. One of the happiest moments of my wedding day was standing underneath the cross on the beautiful altar holding hands with my groom while the divine music played!
Ceremony flowers: Zenia from Flor del Monte in Pilsen did our ceremony flowers. I loved my bouquet and the bridesmaid’s bouquets. All the flowers were very beautiful.
Reception Venue: Kasbeer Hall at the Loyola University Water Tower Campus. It was amazing to walk into the room and see how beautiful everything turned out.

DJ: DJ Darknight our bilingual MC from Champion DJ Promotions was a great find. He did a fantastic job of getting and keeping the party going through a great mix of musical genres in English and Spanish.
Cake and reception flowers: Lincoln Park Whole Foods Market—I really wanted to have natural flowers and good cake but did not want to break the bank. We did a mix of orchid plants and flower arrangements that included pink gerbera daisies and white hydrangeas. Guests were able to take all the flowers home after the reception. Our cake had three different flavor tiers; chocolate, vanilla and red velvet.
Favorite wedding related purchase: wedding rings
Two (among many) favorite wedding memories: Groom—getting tossed in the air by the bride’s family, the groomsmen and friends. Bride—watching everyone have a great time on the dance floor.
What we would have done differently: Finished the day of preparations earlier.
Advice for Brides to be: It really is true that when you find what you need you’ll just know it. Don’t settle on anything that doesn’t feel quite right and really matters to you for your wedding day. We looked at a handful of venues within our budget that would have worked just fine. None really felt exactly right until we found the one that we chose. We were very happy that we didn’t sign until we were sure.
We had the best time with Hilda and Carol walking around downtown Chicago on what turned out to be a very beautiful and warm fall day! We can’t wait to see and share our wedding photographs with our families and friends.”
