Our Lady of Perpetual Help, Glenview | Michigan Shores Club Christmas wedding | Meaghan & Alan

Meaghan & Alan is the kind of couple I dreamed about when I first started my business. They are just the sweetest, kindest souls, and after meeting their families it’s obvious why. When planning this wedding nothing was left to chance from the photo timeline to the hand crafted centerpieces the couple was hands on. I’m so happy to share their magical December wedding! (Yes, I know I’m a bad photographer, I’m behind on blogging, but the wait it so worth it)

Couple of quick stops in Glenview, where we caught some amazing light!!

This is how happy they were the entire day! My trusty and faithful assistant Carol making sure the Bride’s dress stays clean.

Since the Groom works there, we had special permission to take photos at Charles Deering Library (on the campus of Northwestern University in Evanston) I love it when my couples think outside the box for their wedding photos!

From the couple…

‘Our phenomenal photographer was our favorite wedding related purchase! Our wedding day absolutely flew by, so to have such incredible photos that capture the whole day and all the small details we may have missed is worth every cent! All these photos captured the love and joy of the day, not just with us and our wedding party and family, but of our guests as well, and we will be able to look back at these photos and be transported back to so many moments on the best day of our lives.

There were so many beautiful memories it is hard to pick just one. Seeing our wedding come to life from the planning stage to seeing our vision finally realized in-person when the doors opened to the reception was breathtaking. It had exceeded our dreams of the day, and we were blown away by stepping into a room so filled with love and sharing the day with our family and friends.

Our priest taking a selfie with us on the altar during the Homily was quite a highlight! Additionally, being able to dance with my Dad and do a mix of songs was so fun (neither of us are dancers, but we both had an absolute blast dancing together!) It was very much us to play around and get a laugh for our dance together.

We were engaged on December 17, 2016 and planned our wedding for December 16, 2017… with a year-long engagement and starting the planning early, we thought that would be plenty of time for lots of do-it-yourself projects. That time flew though, and the projects kept multiplying, from creating the centerpieces to designing and creating our “Akers’ Mark” bottles to all the little things in-between (if anyone needs to know how to dip their own bourbon bottles… give us a shout!) But it brought us even closer together (if possible!) and helped us make sure that our wedding truly was a reflection of us as a couple. At the end of the day, we didn’t get a lot of sleep that year, but it was incredible seeing everything finally come together when the doors at Michigan Shores opened. Every second of that past year was worth it for that magical day!

Enjoy the day and soak as much of it in as you can, because it will fly by!’
