Chicago Botanic Garden Wedding, Lindsay and Chaz [Chicago photographer, wedding planning]-
Lindsay has got to be one of the most laid back brides I’ve ever met. She’s also kind and drop dead gorgeous. And she kept those Jimmy Choos on the entire night, now that’s dedication 😉
Lindsay got ready at her parents home. The house is so beautiful, it looks like it belongs in a magazine.
Dress – Monique Lhuillier Amaranth from Ultimate Bride.
I was totally obsessed with this dress, the lace detail is to die for. I’m noticing a non strapless trend lately 🙂
Make up by Dori Mae, who always does an amazing job and never makes me late. Hair by Lauren Logan.
Shoes – Jimmy Choo
You know I died from happiness when I saw this chair in the living room. Everything in this house was a work of art.
Meanwhile Carolyn was hanging with the boys.
Ceremony, reception, photos and first look all took place at the beautiful Chicago Botanic Gardens in Glencoe Illinois. One of the best reasons to do a first look is that you get to do all the photos ahead of time, so after the ceremony you can join your guests at cocktail hour instead of rushing to do photos.
So sweet, the girls sneaking a peek at the first look.
Flowers – Rachel O Flowers, they were simply amazing.
Good thing Lindsay had the little shrug since it was 40 degrees!! What a trooper, she braved the weather without it in most of the photos. But when you have a dress like that it needs to be seen.
Love!
Tux – Ralph Lauren from Ralph Lauren
Yes, I know I can’t believe how gorgeous they are either.
Please note Chaz’s pocket square 😉
My view…
Carolyn’s view…
Favorite!! Well one of them anyway 😉
Ceremony time!
Best ‘aisle’ view ever!!
The Bridesmaids reactions are priceless!
Congratulations!!!
I only had 3 minutes to do the detail shots. Don’t believe me? Ask Lauren, the most amazing wedding planner (Lauren Kneupfer from LK Events) Thank you for all your help Lauren 🙂
First dance.
Gentleman of Leisure were fantastic!
A couple of romantic night time photos.
Another favorite, LOVE!
I was walking backwards just snapping away, a few seconds after taking this photo I landed butt first in a giant flower pot. The happy couple tried to warn me, but I thought they were waving and yelling to the guests behind me. Totally worth it 😉
Rings by La Ron Jewlers on S. Wabash
From the bride…
‘Dress – Monique Lhuillier Amaranth from Ultimate Bride
Shoes – Jimmy Choo – i mean shit, I could barely walk in them but beauty is pain or whatever that saying is!
Tux – Ralph Lauren from Ralph Lauren
Rings – La Ron Jewlers on S. Wabash
Planner – Lauren Kneupfer from LK Events (who is amazeballs!)
Flowers – Rachel O Flowers (Rachel Omundson — she is an independent florist, does such beautiful work that brought tears to my eyes and literally was able to take my scatter brained ideas/visions and bring them to life)
Band – Gentleman of Leisure (WOWZA they can party and know how to get everyone else to party! Whoop whoop!!! they even managed to get the wallflowers up and dancing)
Venue- Chicago Botanic Garden (my favorite place on earth, best backdrop!)
Photographer – Hilda Burke – seriously amazing! Made me and my bridal party feel like movie stars. I would almost go as far to say that you made Chas feel comfortable in front of the camera which is near impossible. Coming from the guy who didn’t want to have ANY photos taken! Now he can’t WAIT to see the end results 🙂
Invites – Yellow Bird in Wilmette
Favorite wedding related purchase would have to be my dress. Even before we were engaged I knew the style dress I wanted, which is interesting because I am not (or at least I didn’t think I was) the type of girl who dreamt about and envisioned my wedding. I knew that I wanted an open back, lace gown that was NOT strapless! When we got engaged, I saw that Monique made a dress with just that and even had a bit of flare with the leg slit up the front. That uniqueness made the dress! I stalked it down in Chicago and found it at Ultimate Bride. I set the appointment for early fall 2011 in anticipation of a “beach wedding” that following June. I had also set up another dress trial at a nearby store just to have something to compare, but knew all along that it didn’t matter, I NEEDED that dress! Obviously, the dress worked. I cried like a baby! I didn’t end up buying the dress until a couple of months later after we had a change in wedding plans to get married at the Garden. I think the whole outfit was completed by my spontaneous head piece, birdcage/fascinator that was created on the spot during a trial fitting. The seamstress thought I was crazy when I said, “PERFECT! This will do!” I think she was expecting me to lay out all these details of what I wanted, but the second she threw some netting on my head and had it propped over one of my eyes I thought this is so me, impromptu and impulsive! love love love!
Favorite Wedding memory would have to be the ceremony. I am secret lover of romance and I think that our ceremony was so romantic. That may be me being bias. I loved the dramatic walk with the trees flanking and the candles lining the rows. Having the ceremony at dusk was the icing on the cake. Well…the real icing was having the temps in the mid 40s. WOWZA! Talk about shocker! Although, it did give me an impromptu wedding accessory — this amazing little fur shrug (or whatever they’re called). LOVED IT! Felt like old classic Hollywood glam.
I can honestly say there is nothing I wish we would have done differently. Just typing this email to you reminds me of what a special, magical, and truly happy night that was for us and how I wish I could live it over and over day after day. I can’t even imagine what I’m going to feel when I actually see the photos. Omg I’m getting butterflies just writing! Truthfully, it’s been one of those “out of sight, out of mind” experiences. I haven’t see too many photos because all my friends were in the wedding and didn’t take pics, so I haven’t seen many. Also, now that the wedding is over and we’re onto our daily lives, we don’t talk about it that often. Knowing we will be seeing our pictures makes me so excited because we can relive the night and maybe actually be able to remember parts of it! I never believed anyone when they said their night was a blur, but they swear they weren’t drunk. Now I can appreciate that, I swear the whole day/night is a blur and very distant memory!
OK, sorry for the ramble!
I AM SO SO SO EXCITED!’
