Fountain Blue in Des Plaines, IL wedding reception and ceremony | Ryan & Ryann | Chicago wedding photography-
Just so no one is confused, Ryann is the Bride and Ryan is the Groom. The Grooms sister recommended me, (thanks Erin!) I shot her wedding a few years ago…her little girl is the adorable flower girl. The ceremony and the reception was all in the same place, at the Fountain Blue in Des Plaines.

From the Bride….
‘Venue: Fountain Blue in Des Plaines, IL – people are very easy to work with, very accommodating and willing to work with us on prices. Only down fall, when we put the deposit down on the the tent “Lion’s Gate Pavilion” little did we know 4 months before our wedding we would be going to a town hall meeting regarding noise violations. We were almost told to find another location for our wedding, but fortunately we were able to stay. Unfortunately for them they are unable to use the tent as of the new year. Phew……
Dress: Jasmines in Lombard– loved the “say yes to the dress” experience. had a lot to pick from and the staff was amazing. Also got all the Bridesmaid dresses there too. They give the bride and bridesmaids discounts if both are purchased there. The only down fall is the alterations department.
Cake: Central Continental Bakery in Mount Prospect- Horrible. The pictures that we agreed on for design looked NOTHING like what they made. It looked like a 4 year old made it, it was even lopsided. They are the bakery that the venue uses and because of all the issues with the town, Fountain blue didn’t make us pay any up charges for it. However that is why i think it looked so awful
Flowers: Flowerville in Park Ridge- Loved loved Loved them. So easy to work with and gave great advice and the prices are amazing.
DJ: Sounds Abound in Naperville- great to work with from the beginning and able to resolve an issue with the banquet halls sound system. Had the guest entertained all night.
Shoes and Jewelry: Nordstrom!!!! | Makeup and Hair: Rachel and Kasie. LOVE THEM!!!!!!!!
Hotel: Radisson: perfect location….. right next door. Pretty accommodating give me and the bridesmaids a conference room for free to get ready in.
Tuxes: Mens Wearhouse– super easy. why is everything for the men so easy?!?
Our favorite wedding related purchase: Not to be a butt kiss, but YOU!!!!!! We could not imagine the day going any more smooth. You made us laugh and made us remember why we were there. because we love each other.
Memory: Ryan says me walking down the isle. And I say our personal vows we wrote for each other.
Something you would do different: Worry less through out the whole process and enjoy more, even the little tedious things. it is all worth it at the end.
Advice: Random but….* Do not have your wedding shower less then a month before your wedding. I was scrambling to get thank you notes out and our office housed all our presents for far to long after.
*Yes you can listen to other peoples opinions but at the end of the day do what you want and remember its the one day that is really all about you and your husband. No one else. Its okay to say NO ( i swear i was not a bridezilla)
*When you get alterations, do not leave there until you are 100% satisfied. Even if you have to try multiple ways to get it perfect. Then you wont be obsessing over your boobs like i did 😉
And there’s always more on FB 🙂
