Lincolnshire Marriott Resort wedding | Chicago North Shore ceremony & reception | Liz and Tommy
This was one of those day where I went to ‘work’ but ended up at a party with a bunch of fun friends. This couple is just everything photographers dream of. I could not wait to edit and blog this wedding. Even with the tiny flower girl trying to steal the spotlight, their love and affection for each other just shines. Thank you Liz and Tommy for allowing me and Carol to document your day 🙂
Dress from Volle’s Bridal & Boutique.
Everything took place at the Lincolnshire Marriott Resort. Love working there, great staff, yummy food.
Flowers: Bella Flora.
Loved the first look reactions!!
Flower girl trying to crash the wedding party photos.
Because she was looking for her daddy. {Heart puddles}
Ceremony time. Yes, the rings made their entrance in a Cubs hat, how awesome is that?
During the ring exchange the pastor reminds the happy couple not to look at him because the photo and video won’t be able to see them.
And of course hilarity ensues.
Post ceremony photos….so stunning!
Here she comes again!
The kids were adorable.
Tuxes: Mr. Tux
Reception time.
From the couple…
‘Venue: Lincolnshire Marriott Resort We loved our venue! The Lincolnshire staff was very accommodating and truly took care of everything on the day of our wedding. We didn’t think twice about anything on the big day. We enjoyed having the ceremony and reception in the outdoor tent; we thought the deck surrounded by water was beautiful. Besides the sexy hubby in front of me, it was a pretty great view during the ceremony. 🙂 The outdoor cocktail hour was perfect! The weather held out for us, and it was nice to enjoy the weather while talking to all our friends and family. We were happy to have booked the tent!
Dress: I bought my dress at Volle’s Bridal & Boutique of Lake Zurich. I was so excited with the dress! I was nervous about the champagne undertone color in the beginning, but it ended up being perfect. I loved the lace, and the bow was my favorite 🙂
Flowers: Bella Flora The flowers were beautiful! We were so happy with the flowers, bouquets, center pieces, etc. I loved my bouquet!! I absolutely do not have an eye for flower decoration, so Lindsay was very helpful in the process. I loved purples, ivory, and silver for the summer. She also set the scene for our ceremony with the rose pedals and the arbor. It was pretty walking down the aisle 🙂
Cake: Lovin’ Oven Bakery The cake tasting was fun – who doesn’t like free cake?! Honestly, neither of us are huge fans of cake, but we thought it was delicious. We are big fans of strawberries, so we adding strawberry filling. YUM. The cake also looked amazing. The added flowers were so pretty!
Tux: Mr. Tux Mr. Tux works with Volle’s Bridal (and is right next door), so it was super convenient to work with them. As Tommy tried on his tux, it was nice to have my wedding dress there to see the colors and everything. We were able to hide in the back to check the colors — Tommy couldn’t see the dress 🙂 Tommy also had a great experience with the owner, Wendy. She was a lot of help! The tuxes looked great on the day of, and we were happy with all the colors we chose. The bow ties were fun, too 🙂
Favorite Wedding Related Purchase:
- Honeymoon (if it counts ): Santorini, Greece was breathtaking. It was a dream…I want to take a honeymoon every year now.
- Garretts Popcorn: Even though we didn’t get to eat any, Garrett’s Popcorn is our favorite. We heard people enjoyed it, so we were happy.
- Lou Malnati’s Pizza: This was a big hit, too. We didn’t get a piece of it either – but we are happy others enjoyed it!
- Dress 🙂
Favorite Wedding Memory: We can’t think of just one!
- Realizing we both got each other Cubs shirts 🙂
- The first look – so fun!
- Walking down the aisle as husband and wife – so exciting!!
- Talking with everyone at their tables during the dinner – we loved seeing each family member and friend
- For Tommy: the dance-off with his dad. They had impressive moves!
- The FaceTime call from my brother, Kevin, who was recently deployed to South Korea. It was awesome to be able to see him and chat with him on our big day even though he was a world away.
Wish you would have done differently: It was the best day – we couldn’t have dreamed of a better time. We got married – what could be better?! We wish the weather decided not to downpour, but we hear rain is good luck on wedding days. 🙂 We are grateful for such amazing family and friends that helped make this day so memorable for us.
Additional Thoughts: All the hard work before the big day is worth it.
Advice for Couples: Soak up every moment. Slow the day down. Talk to everyone – especially your new spouse! Kiss. Laugh. Dance. Smile. Don’t think twice about anything…You get to marry the love of your life — that’s all that matters! 🙂
We hope this info is helpful — let us know if there is anything else we can do to help!! We are LOVING all the pictures you’ve posted on facebook, so we can’t wait to see them all! Quick question – once they are posted, is there a specific way we order the pictures? Or how that process works? I’m sure we will want to decorate our house with them 🙂 Thanks so much for all of your help — you’re the best! :)’
To quote the groom “we really loved our two kick ass photographers as well, that’s up there as our favorite part of the wedding too!!”
